Remoção de fragmento de raiz em canal mandibular de um cão

Fraturas radiculares, que podem ocorrer devido a traumas, extrações incompletas, são abordadas como complicações em procedimentos odontológicos. O estudo relata um caso clínico de uma cadela de 10 anos com doença periodontal grau quatro, que sofreu uma fratura iatrogênica da raiz mesial do quarto pré-molar mandibular direito durante o tratamento periodontal. O fragmento radicular foi deslocado para o canal mandibular e sua remoção cirúrgica foi realizada, após confirmação radiográfica da localização. O procedimento envolveu a realização de um retalho mucogengival e a perfuração da tábua óssea mandibular lateral. Este caso ilustra a importância da realização do tratamento periodontal com profissional especializado e experiente na área de odontologia veterinária, com capacidade de interpretação de imagens radiográficas no trans operatório, visando o bem-estar do paciente. Destaca-se, a relevância do domínio das técnicas cirúrgicas para a correção de fraturas radiculares embasadas em literaturas.
